Samsung Galaxy S Plus (GT-I9001)
Samsung made the Galaxy S Plus as an upgraded version of the original Galaxy S but at a cheaper price to the Galaxy S2. Most notable features are the faster processor and longer battery life.
Around £200.
1.4GHz processor, 4-inch (480 x 800) Super AMOLED screen, 2GB storage, microSD slot, 5Mp camera, 1650mAh battery and Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Samsung Galaxy Pro (GT-B7510)
The Galaxy Pro is Samsung's answer to RIM's iconic BlackBerry smartphones. It has a small touchscreen accompanied by a physical Qwerty keyboard.
Around £150.
800MHz processor, 2.8-inch (320 x 240) TFT screen, 160MB storage, microSD slot, 3Mp camera, 1350mAh battery and Android 2.2 Froyo.

Samsung Galaxy W (GT-I8150)
The Galaxy W is effectively a smaller version of the Galaxy S Plus with a lower specification in some areas such as internal storage. The prices are about the same at the moment so it's worth opting for the S Plus over the W.

1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 3.7-inch (480 x 800) TFT screen, 4GB storage, microSD slot, 5Mp camera, 1500mAh battery and Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Samsung Galaxy Beam (GT-I8530)
The Samsung Galaxy Beam is one of the more interesting smartphones of the year. It's essentially your typical mid-range Android phone but it boasts a built-in HD projector as its key feature.
Around £450. Due for release in June.
1GHz dual-core processor, 4-inch (480 x 800) Super AMOLED screen, 8GB storage, microSD slot, 5Mp camera, 2000mAh battery and Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Samsung Galaxy S Advance (GT-I9070)
The Galaxy S Advance is another version of the original Galaxy S – again with better specs. It has a curved screen and a dual-core processor which the Galaxy S Plus doesn't have.
Around £300.
1GHz dual-core processor, 4-inch (480 x 800) Super AMOLED screen, 8/16GB storage, microSD slot, 5Mp camera, 1500mAh battery and Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Samsung Galaxy Y (GT-S5360)
If you want a small and cheap smartphone then the Galaxy Y is a suitable option. It has a low-end set of specifications and an equally low price to match.
