Apple has unleashed a new range of MacBook Air laptops. The new MacBook Air ultraportable laptops use Intel's 4th-generation Core processors, also known as 'Haswell'. New MacBook Air release date in the UK

The new MacBook Air models were announced only last night at WWDC. But - typical Apple - that doesn't mean you have to wait to get your hands on these most portable Macs. The new MacBook Air laptops are available in the UK today. You can buy a new MacBook Air through the Apple Online Store, Apple retail stores and Apple Authorised Resellers.

New MacBook Air price in the UK

There are four main SKUs of the new MacBook Air, and they range in price from a starting point of £849 inc VAT up to £1,129 inc VAT.

The cheapest model is an 11in Air with a 128GB SSD. That costs £849 inc VAT. Further up the scale is the same chassis with a 256GB storage drive. That will set you back £1,029 inc VAT.

If you don't want to spend that much and you want a MacBook Air with a 13in screen you must find £949 for the 13in MacBook Air with 128GB SSD. New MacBook Air specifications

MacBook AirThat cheapest, £849 11in MacBook Air comes with a Core i5 processor clocked at 1.3GHz (with Turbo Boost speeds up to 2.6GHz). It has 4GB of memory and is available with 128GB of flash storage. The £1,029 11in model has similar specs but adds that 256GB solid state disk.

The £949 13in MacBook Air comes with a 1.3GHz Core i5 processor - again with Turbo Boost speeds up to 2.6GHz. It also has 4GB of fast RAM and is available with 128GB of flash storage starting at £949, and 256GB of flash storage starting at £1,129.

Configure-to-order options include a 1.7 GHz Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.3GHz, up to 8GB of memory and up to 512GB flash storage.
