Sony PS Vita Slim: Specs

So the PS Vita Slim is 15 percent lighter and 20 percent thinner than the original PS Vita (183.6 x 85.1 x 15mm and 219g), but that's not where the changed stop. Sony has also swapped the OLED screen for a lower grade LCD panel.

The PS Vita Slim has 1GB of internal storage meaning that games can be played without the need for a Memory Card like its predecessor. Sony touts a battery life of up to six hours gaming time for the PS Vita Slim which is more than the original.

If you're in the UK, you'll be able to get hold of the Wi-Fi model of the PS Vita Slim. Those wanting 3G data will have to opt for the original PS Vita.

In terms of other specs, the PS Vita Slim is the same as the original. It's got a quad-core Cortex A9 processor, 512MB of RAM, 128MB of VRAM and a screen has a resolution of 960 x 540.There's also front and rear cameras, stereo speakers and a microphone.

PS4 owners will be pleased to hear that the PS Vita Slim is capable of remotely playing games from the console. We won't be surprised if Sony starts selling bundles including both consoles.

Although the PS Vita Slim has been unveiled in a range of colours, its seems that only the black version will hit UK shops.
