The Link Station Duo is available in a choice of 1 terabyte, 2TB or 4TB of storage capacities and allows users to place the two swappable drives in either standard, RAID 0 or RADI 1 configurations.

Buffalo has unveiled the BR-X16U2-EU - an external Blu-ray drive.
The black drive, which measures 50x220x160mm, can be attached to a PC via its USB 2.0 connection, which also powers the device. It is capable of writing Blu-ray discs at a speed of 8x, while DVDs and CDs can be written at speeds of 16x and 32x respectively.

Samsung is hoping to tempt film fans into buying its new 500GB portable hard drive by including a copy of the Tom Hanks film Angels and Demons on it.
The Samsung S2 Portable finds itself in a crowded market - hence the inclusion of the film based on the Dan Brown novel, as well as several other applications. Samsung says it is the first time an external hard drive has been pre-loaded with a full-length feature film.

The USB 3.0 race heated up yesterday, with the news that Buffalo's HD-HU3 range of hard drives will be the world's first SuperSpeed drives to make it to market when they ship in Japan later this month.
Buffalo's new range of hard drives will initially be available in capacities ranging from 500GB to 1.5TB, with a larger 2TB model planned for later release.

Apple appears to be readying a new version of its Mighty Mouse, possibly planning to launch it later this year with a set of new iMacs. But here's my advice to Apple: don't mess with the mouse.
AppleInsider was first on the story. "Apple's next mouse is expected to do away with the Mighty Mouse's problematic mechanical roller ball, using expanded touch-sensitive housing and multipoint touch detection mechanism technologies described in recent patent filings," the site wrote.

Graphics tablet specialist Wacom has introduced a new range of Bamboo tablets, merging interactive multi-touch functionality with pen tablet technology in a single device.
Currently, the Bamboo tablets recognise two digits at a time and can distinguish between gestures to zoom, rotate and scroll. Gesture can also be used for navigation and to click or select an item or tool.

Lava Accessories has launched the i-Buddy - a USB gadget that comes alive in a bid to alert PC users when they get a message or email on their PC.
The 3in-tall robot can be connected to a PC via USB and will perform various motions and effects when the user receives a messag containing an emoticon in Windows Live Messenger. The i-Buddy tries to emulate the emotion conveyed by emoticon. Expressions include flapping its wings, glowing one of eight different colours or its heart flashing.

BenQ has unveiled the V2400 Eco and V2200 Eco - two new widescreen LED displays.
The 24in V2400 and 21.5in V200 are both high-definition displays that, BenQ says, use 36 percent less power than traditional flat-panel displays. The displays have an Eco Mode, which uses 30 percent less energy than when they are running in standard mode.

HP has unveiled a range of Photosmart printers that features touch sensitive technology allowing users to print using the LCD display located on the front of the printer.
The £199 HP Photosmart Premium is the top-of-the range multi-function printer that offers printing, scanning and faxing capabilities. It features an 8.9 cm Touchscreen and has a Wi-Fi connection. Together the components allow users to view, edit and print lab-quality photos from an online album at Snapfish using just the LCD display.

Buffalo's MiniStation HD-PX is a shock-resistant portable hard drive that comes in a range of colours. The MiniStation HD-PX is available in capacities from 250GB up to 500GB.
The MiniStation Lite HD-PX is based on a 2.5in disk and connects via USB. It will replace Buffalo's older HD-PF model. The company informs us that the MiniStation Lite HD-PX is likely to be available in volume from January 2010.

Epson has launched a new A4 photo printer aimed at digital photo enthusiasts, the £129 Stylus Photo PX650.

Western Digital has launched the first 1TB hard drive for notebook computers, the WD Scorpio Blue 2.5in hard drive.
Three 333GB platters combine to offer a terabyte of storage. Western Digital says the 12.5mm-thick drives are likely to appear in its own storage products such as the MyPassport Essential SE Portable USB drive range.

HannsG has launched the HH251HP - a 25in widescreen - the first in its HH series of displays.
