Sony TG7VE camcorder

April 2, 2009

Sony has launched a successor to its well-received HDR-TG3 flash memory-based camcorder.

The TG7VE is described as the world's smallest and lightest full HD camcorder and is set to go onsale in the UK next month. Better yet, it has a built-in GPS receiver, which means it's location-aware and can automatically geotag images - ideal if you want to upload them to an online mapping, photo- or video-sharing website.

The Sony TG7VE camcorder has a 2.7in LED display, and can capture still photos at up to 4Mp. The camcorder has a 16GB internal memory and can record around six hours video footage. A Memory Stick can be used to further boost the storage capacity and extend the total recording time to as much as 12.5 hours.

Clad in titanium, the Sony TG7VE is designed to be tough but lightweight. Wide-angle photography of up to 30mm can be achieved when an optional adapter is fitted.
