News: Expo Notes: Monitor2Go a handy presentation display for the iPad
Mobile Monitor Technologies' Monitor2Go is an external display designed with the iPad in mind. Its physical design is much like a laptop; it has two parts attached by a hinge, with the external display on one side, and an iPad docking space on the other. You slip the iPad into the dock, connect the video cable to the iPad (an HDMI adapter is required), and then you access the iPad screen through a cutout on the device.

News: Acquisition math: Belkin CTO predicts outcome of Linksys deal will be "1+1=3"
News that Cisco intended to divest its Linksys home-networking business unit broke last December, but Belkin's decision--announced last Thursday--to acquire that division came as a surprise. Belkin's intentions are even more interesting: The company isn't just buying a prestige brand to slap on its existing home-networking product line; it plans to market networking products under both brands.

Opinion: The printer primer
Much as you may have heard about the “paperless office,” the truth is that paper is still a popular item to have around the home and the office. And it is because many of us have at least one printer attached to our computers—either physically tethered via a cable or virtually connected over a network. Whether you hope to use that printer to produce photographs, drafts of your next novel, or flyers for your kid’s upcoming jai alai tournament, it will do you little good sitting in its box. Now’s the time to break it out and configure it for your Mac. The means for doing that is Mountain Lion’s Print & Scan system preference.

Opinion: Displair gives you a touchscreen out of thin air
You can build more than you might expect with just a little bit of air flow and two microns of water. Like a virtual touchscreen display that appears out of nowhere. That's what Displair can boast anyway, with one of the more eye-catching demos I saw at CES 2013.
