Opinion: Is it me, or are the walls melting in this 3D printed room?
We've seen some pretty weird 3D-printed stuff, including Stephen Colbert's tentacle laden head, but a 3D-printed room with walls that look like they're melting takes the cake. Designed by Benjamin Dillenburger and Michael Hansmeyer, the Digital Grotesque project is an amazing, gothic, yet organic architecture project that aims to create the world's first completely 3D-printed room.

News: Amazon quietly launches complete 3D printing store
Amazon is helping to push 3D printing into the mainstream with a new section on its site dedicated to the miniature manufacturing plants. The online shopping giant joins Staples, which in early May became the first major U.S. retailer to sell a 3D printer.

News: Hit the road with Google Maps for iOS
Calling the launch of iOS's built-in Maps app "underwhelming" might be generous. While I'd argue that Apple's mapping efforts aren't as bad as many people think, Google has certainly provided some stiff competition in the form of its Google Maps app for iOS. It can match many--but not all--of the features of Apple Maps, and Google's databases of location information are arguably superior. There's a reason we put it on the list of our apps that can replace iOS's defaults on your phone.

News: Pioneer slashes AirPlay prices, aims at Bluetooth
When customers in the Apple ecosystem shop for wireless speakers, the biggest consideration is whether to go with Bluetooth or AirPlay. And the argument has long gone that AirPlay's decided advantages--higher-quality audio and longer, Wi-Fi-based range--come with one significant disadvantage: AirPlay speakers cost substantially more than their Bluetooth counterparts. But it appears that Pioneer is looking to change that.
