Samsung and LG showed off prototype mobile phones at Mobile World Congress that can be recharged by solar panels built into the case. Called Blue Earth, Samsung's phone has a touchscreen and according to the company, a case designed to look like a rounded pebble. The handset is made from recycled plastic and doesn't include toxics like brominated flame retardants, Beryllium and phthalates.

A new survey by the charity Personal Finance Education Group (pfeg) has revealed that 35 percent of UK children own a mobile phone by the time they are eight years old. The survey also highlighted that 75 percent of kids aged seven to 15 own at least one mobile phone.
